The liter price for Euro95 (E10) would fall 4 cents at the parties. Another provider, however, keeps its prices constant. There is also a large oil company for which no new prices have yet been received. Based on the preliminary figures, motorists can count on a price drop of up to 6 cents for diesel.
According to market expert Paul van Selms of UnitedConsumers, the panic among the oil companies seems to be easing again. He has the impression that they now feel that there will be no tougher sanctions against Russia for the time being that could further squeeze oil supplies.
Prices also fell slightly on Friday. The average suggested retail price for Euro95 is now 2.478 euros per liter, while on Thursday more than 2.50 euros per liter had to be paid. For diesel it is currently 2,365 euros per litre.
Van Selms warns that the period with high petrol and diesel prices is not over yet. According to him, nothing needs to be done and the oil companies could raise their rates again. Pump owners can deviate from the suggested retail prices of Shell, BP, Total, Texaco and Esso, which UnitedConsumers have been tracking since the beginning of this century. In practice, motorists only pay the suggested retail prices along the highway.
