“The park is a place to come together, to connect nature with people,” says Renia. “But just the place is not enough. You also have to give people a reason to come there. So you are going to add value to it with play areas for children, a fitness park, walnut trees and fruit bushes.”
“We always want to see what there is still a need for and what can be added. For example, we recently added a bee hotel. And our next project is a cable car to give children a reason to come.”
The competition included the playground and meeting place Perenbuurt in Ruinerwold, Kers in the Kern of Local Interest Nieuwlande and Amphitheater de Broekstreek of the Schoolyard Working Group in Ekehaar.
