The costs of olive oil, mozzarella, tomato and pizza dough, among other things, are now 14 percent higher than in June last year. Olive oil in particular became considerably more expensive, with a price jump of 27 percent. This is probably due to the drought in Italy, resulting in lower olive oil production.
Total inflation in Italy was less than 7 percent in June. In the previous month this was still more than 8 percent.
