On September 13, the deputy mayor – deputy in the absence of Mayor Halsema – decides to close four buildings of the pizza restaurant by explosions and as a precaution. It concerns branches on the Overtoom, the Plantage Kerklaan and the Haarlemmerdijk. About ten days earlier, camera surveillance is placed at one of the branches, but that turned out not enough.

The branches are still closed, the buildings remain closed for six months. That is the standard period that is used from the mayor with these types of closures.

Widely worn

The pizza chain remained wary so far in response, but Margreet Leguijt, one of the four owners of the chain, now appeals to the mayor and the entire city council during a committee meeting: “There is someone who hates us so that the person wants to destroy us and our company.”

All things are from the owners themselves, others not closed are franchise locations. “Families of the owners no longer have any income, 65 people no longer have work and the image of our affairs is harmed. In this way, bankruptcy is lurking.”
