F.the defections and postponements of some big names in fashion are running out, but from 11 to 13 January, as per the calendar, the event n.101 of Pitti Uomo. Appointment at the Fortezza da Basso and in the iconic places of Florence, for an edition dedicated to creativity and safety.
Pitti Uomo 2022, the key word is “safety”
The exponential increase in Covid cases causes the scenario of the fashion events scheduled for this period to change every day. During the week there was a lot of talk about the retirement of Giorgio Armani from the Milano Moda Uomo fashion shows and immediately after the renunciation of Brunello Cucinelli and the postponement to June of Ann Demelemeester to the edition n.101 from Pitti Uomo.
The Florentine kermesse, for the moment, will be staged in the historic location of the Fortezza da Basso from 11 to 13 January 2022. The hashtag #safewithpitti immediately clarifies the priority of the event, the rules for safe access to the salons are 5.
- Obligation to register and purchase tickets online before the show.
- Access permitted only by showing the Enhanced Green Pass and with temperature reading.
- Inside the exhibition center: obligation to wear FFP2 masks, limits to the capacity of the halls with anti-crowd monitoring, daily sanitization, sanitizing gel dispenser.
- Access to the indoor dining areas only with the Enhanced Green Pass. Prohibition of providing food and drinks outside the areas designated and structured for this service.
- Quick buffer hubs available to visitors in collaboration with the Italian Red Cross.

The agenda of the event n.101
L’edition no.101 is titled “Pitti Reflections” and is inspired by the mirror as a theme of the double, of identity and of recognizing oneself. The opening ceremony, strictly by invitation, is scheduled for 11 January at 11 in the Sala della Scherma of the Fortezza da Basso.
To follow, a full agenda of presentations and talks, in addition to the exhibition of 600 brands divided into three main sections: Fantastic Classic (the evolution of classic fashion in the most innovative versions), Dynamic Attitude (outdoor and streetwear trends in the most creative international brands) e Superstyling (the new stylistic canons that anticipate trends).

In addition, the special project S | Style sustainable style dedicated to the most interesting emerging menswear brands. Vintage Selection, a rich selection of garments, accessories and design objects sought after by the best Italian vintage fashion operators. AND Scandinavian Manifesto, in collaboration with Revolver Copenhagen, with the most promising names coming from Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
The special events in anticipation
Between book presentations, documentary screenings and talks on the future of fashion and green revolutions, in the list of special events of the kermesse – confirmed up to now and almost all on the first day – the soirée jazz Caruso – Chi in Motion at the Marino Marini Museum. Lardini anticipates the looks of autumn winter season 2022/2023, with an installation in a large greenhouse in the Giardino del Glicine della Fortezza space.
Also on 11 January on the Social Wall of the central pavilion there is “Do not handle with care”, the wall-installation dedicated to the craftsmen of Tuscan leather. While Piacenza 1733 proposes the combination of cashmere and gin, in the historic location of the Caffé Paszkowski it goes on stage La Petite Robe from Chiara Boni.
Finally, the event of LuisaViaRoma, who on the same day inaugurates the new terrace with an exclusive installation by the maison Cassina. The next appointment with Pitti Uomo is from 14 to 17 June 2022.
