Pitti Immagine Uomo January 2024: the events calendar

FThese are (almost) archived, the time has come to get back in step with fashion. Starting from menswear collections: everything is ready for the next edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo 105which lands at Florence from the 9 to the 12 January 2024. It’s PittiTime – from every point of view, considering that it is also the theme of this season.

835 brands for 5 sections – Fantastic Classic, Futuro Maschile, Dynamic Attitude, Superstyling and I Go Out – to which is added the presence of special areas dedicated to pets and vintage. From leading designers, to paradesgarlic events open to the public: here’s everything you need to know about the men’s collections Autumn-Winter 2024/2025 who are preparing to conquer the spotlight of Fortezza da Basso.

The Pitti Uomo 105 fashion shows

Two fashion shows on the calendar, which features guest designers Luca Magliano (Magliano) e Steven Stokey-Daley (SS Daley). Emblematic choices: both young creatives, one very Italian, born in 1987, of Bolognese origins, winner of Pitti Italics in 2018, in the year of its debut at the show; in 2023 he was awarded the LVMH Karl Lagerfeld Prize. The program includes an engaging fashion show at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence.

The other, just under thirty years old and originally from Liverpool, awarded in 2022 with the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, will bring his Made in Britain collection to Florence, full of ideas that reinterpret the classic English heritage, with a fashion show -event.

Also an America’s big shot arrives in Florence, protagonist of Designer Showcase of this edition: it is about Todd Snyder, which presents the eponymous brand with a fashion show on the first day of the show, Tuesday 9 January. A highly anticipated return, which also aims to be a tribute to the long career of the designer, former right-hand man of Ralph Lauren.

Special events, returns and co-labs

What are the brands to keep an eye on in this edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, protagonists of installations, events and special collections for Autumn-Winter 2024/2025? The Central Square of the Fortress will be entirely dedicated to the return of WoolrichWhile Fay presents the new collection Archive for the first time at Pitti Uomo in the Polveriera spaces. Among the returns, too Borsalino And Bikkembergson stage with a live exhibition performance on January 10th.

The group WP brings brand news to Pitti Uomo Barbour, Filson and Blundstone, including the hottest co-labs of 2024, Barbour x Baracuta and Tokihito Yoshida. And to stay on the theme of “designer” partnerships, the first collection arrives Tod’s for Automobili Lamborghini. Worth a mention too No Nation Fashiona capsule collection in 6 outfits created by students for the brand thatIOM which supports the inclusion of migrants.

Focus on: denim

An edition dedicated to the blue canvas. Between new names and returns, the return of Guess Jeans with the new line by Nicolai Marciano. But also that of Roy Roger’s: the denim brand looks back to the 80s by presenting the iconic 5-pocket jeans enriched with patches and stickers of graphics belonging to the archive, in addition to the second collaboration Roy Roger’s x Dave’s NY.

Denim meets design instead in the new project by G Star Rawreturning to Pitti Uomo 105. The brand teams up with the creative Marteen Baas: the collaboration will be revealed through a series of works of art, created with denim waste, surrounded by spectacular scenery, a 13 meter long private jet created with a textile material derived from recycled denim.

How to participate in Pitti Uomo 105

For non-experts and for those who will not be in Florence, all exhibitors are also present on the digital platform Pitti Connect. While the most curious fashionistas arrive in Florence from 9 to 12 January, the event to mark on the diary is The Walking Story: an immersive brand experience in the Ferragamo world, open to the public. A treasure hunt in the city through six stages, the Ferragamo boutiquethe Column of Abundancethe Neptune FountainThe Vasari Corridor, Old Bridge And Piazzetta Salvatore and Wanda Ferragamo: some iconic objects of the Maison are scattered along the route (such as the “Rainbow” wedge dedicated to Judy Garland, but also contemporary elements such as the gold sandal reinterpreted by Maximilian Davis for the Autumn-Winter 2023/2024 collection).

The experience has a phygital character and is supported by a web-app. Upon completion of the route, a surprise awaits returning users to the store. Finally, the experience can be enriched with visit to Ferragamo museum of Palazzo Spini Feroni, the hub of fashion in the city, where the exhibition is currently on display Salvatore Ferragamo 1898-1960 dedicated to the designer and founder, on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the opening of the first store Ferragamo in Hollywood.

Pitti Immagine Uomo, increasingly international

Everything is ready to go, but Pitti Uomo never stops. The show is in the running, especially on the international side. In fact, 43% of the brands present are arriving from abroad: among the novelties of Pitti Immagine Uomo 105, the launch of Neudeutschan unprecedented project on new wave design from Germany, with garments, design objects and lifestyle proposals signed by 17 German brands.

The Nordic fashion scene presents itself at Pitti Uomo with Scandinavian Manifesto: and among the “niche” debuts it figures Achilles Ion Gabriel, a young designer of Finnish origin, with a show that promises to be cool, immersive and engaging. From Japan, J∞Quality Factory Brand Project, which brings together 12 Japanese manufacturing companies, e Japan Leather Showroom. In the end Detroitissimi, with a collective of brands based coming from Detroit – Michigan. The aim is to increasingly attract buyers from the most important department stores in the world.
