In Groningen this afternoon a fire broke out in a storage with Styrofoam blocks. The pitch-black clouds of smoke are moving across the A28 in Drenthe, among other things. In the north of our province, reports are coming from people who can clearly see the black cloud of smoke.
The fire broke out on Boerhaavelaan, near the Martini Hospital. The polystyrene blocks are used in the work on the ring road in Groningen.
Local residents have been alerted via an NL-Alert and are advised to close windows and doors. The fire brigade is present with a lot of equipment and has now got the fire under control.
