The first final match in the battle for the national championship between Pinoké and Bloemendaal ended in a draw. The North Holland hockey get-together became 1-1. The decision will be made on Monday.
Both teams were close to each other in the Amsterdamse Bos. In the first quarter, Thierry Brinkman van Bloemendaal cleared an attempt by Alexander Hendrickx off the line. Pinoké had the best chances in the first half. Sébastien Dockier shot on the post on behalf of the team from Amsterdam.
Pinoké took the lead well into the second half. At the seventh penalty corner it was finally hit. Hendrickx pushed the ball between the keeper and the line stop for the opening goal. With two minutes left on the clock, Bloemendaal still pulled a draw out of the fire. A nice penalty corner variant was completed by Arthur van Doren: 1-1.
The return is in Bloemendaal on Monday. The winner of that game will be crowned national champion.
