Pink October 2023: fashion initiatives for research

La moda takes to the field in support of fight against female cancers. Brands and companies in the fashion sector join research and organize campaigns special fundraisers aimed at supporting oncology research, making Pink October 2023 a month of awareness on prevention and raising awareness of early diagnosis.

From the Foundation project IEO-MONZINO Follow the Pink to collaborations with Veronesi Foundation: the common goal is to make a breakthrough in the treatment of oncological diseases. Not only through donations, but also thanks to shopping ideas designed for the occasion that combine business with pleasure.

October turns pink

A small gesture for a big step forward. The fashion system makes itself available in the fight against female cancers, a central theme for Italian research. With annual data recording more than 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer11,000 with uterine cancer and 5,000 cases of ovarian cancer, raise awareness and prevent they are the starting point of a long research process.

Women alongside women, there are various initiatives to support in this Pink October 2023. Starting from the project Pink Ambassador from the Verones Foundationi, which launches an appeal to all women who have fought a typically female tumor to demonstrate that the disease does not destroy ambitions and to raise funds to finance excellent scientific research. At the launch of the new one podcast series Of LILT “i Tre deidesiri”, designed for those who have undergone an oncological treatment process and experienced remission of the disease, available on the main free audio platforms starting from Tuesday 3 October.

Finally we find Follow the Pink, the fourth edition of the solidarity campaign of the IEO-MONZINO Foundation created for support the research of the European Institute of Oncology. A project that has attracted the interest of different companies in the fashion world, from Bourbon to Max & Co (but also Nenette, WolfordFratelli Rossetti and many other brands), who will donate the 10% of the proceeds on a special selection of products, usually in pink shades, at IEO Research.

Solidarity shopping ideas

Research calls and fashion responds. The Parisian brand Sézane announces the launch of a new collection, Pink October, for FW23. With blazers and tailored trousers in baby pink shades ideal for the office and free time, 100% of the proceeds of the sales of this limited edition will be donated to Pink Ribbon Foundation. From clothing to accessories, The Carrie has selected twenty models in pink and blush shades from the FW 2023/24 collection, in order to promote research and prevention alongside Veronesi Foundation. While LADYBUGS finances the research project My First AIRC Grantto promote the career of a young scientist working against breast cancer, donating a percentage of the proceeds collected in Italy to the cause.

Note of honor to Primarkwhich in addition to one donation of €80,000 to the AIRC Foundation and a fundraiser at Italian stores, launched a ad hoc collection composed of 32 items of clothing. Two lines, one post-operative with specialist products developed specifically for all those who have been affected by breast cancer. And one of leisurewear supportiveto raise awareness among its customers during Pink October 2023.
