The success of the project Veronesi Foundation, which in ten years of existence has involved over 1000 women in 22 Italian cities, continues and indeed spreads more and more every year thanks to sporting activities linked to prevention and information on female cancers.
Who are the Pink Ambassadors
The Pink Ambassador they are testimonials of information and dissemination activities on the topic of prevention for women. Women who, after having faced female cancer (breast, ovaries, uterus) have joined Umberto Veronesi Foundation to train for 6 months and get to run 21kmthe distance of a half marathon.
The message of the Pink Ambassadors
Followed by a team excellent technician (coaches, nutritionists and psychologists), the Pink Ambassadors share their illness experience in support of scientific research and of prevention. The aim is to demonstrate the importance of early diagnosis and correct lifestyles in the fight against cancer. Running represents the most active and healthy way to spread courage, research and prevention.

In fact, the great mission of the pink ambassadors is also to raise funds to finance doctors and researchers who have decided to dedicate their lives to the study and treatment of female oncological diseases, through the platform “Together” Foundation.

The project for 2024
After the extraordinary success of the last edition, in which they participated with enthusiasm 220 women former cancer patients on 22 cities Italian from Trento to Cagliari – for the 2024 edition the Veronesi Foundation project wishes to establish itself as a true national movement in pink for the prevention of typically female tumors.
Also for this edition, the new Pink Ambassadors selected will be followed by an excellent team that includes nutritionists and psychologists and they will undertake a free training until October 31, 2024coordinated and managed by Italian Athletics Federationto prepare to run a half marathon, always shouting: “Nothing stops pink, nothing stops women”.
Physical activity: a therapy against tumors
Science has now proven the benefits ofphysical activity at all levels of prevention, not just the primary one that prevents the onset of diseases. According to numerous scientific studies, exercising constantly over time reduces the risk of relapses and promotes the psychophysical recovery of cancer patients.
The story of the Pink Ambassadors
The Pink Ambassador project was born in Milan in 2014 and then expanded over the years throughout the national territory involving over 1000 women. Is in the in 2023 it counted 22 teams in as many cities throughout Italy. By supporting this project, it is possible to focus on two major objectives: promote the importance of prevention And raise funds for scientific research on female cancers.
Now in its eleventh edition, the project dedicated to the Pink Ambassadors is now recognized as a true support network between women who have lived a common experience: female cancer. This year the Foundation has set itself the ambitious goal of making this group grow even further by involving more and more women who want to share their experience.

The city where the Pink Ambassadors train are Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Cagliari, Catania, Como, Florence, Genoa, Lecce, Milan, Monza Brianza, Naples, Padua, Palermo, Perugia, Reggio Emilia, Rome, Salerno, Turin, Trento.
Who can participate
The recruitment of women who have undergone breast, uterine or ovarian cancer surgery, who have completed treatment by September 2023, will be active from Monday 1 January until Wednesday 31 January by sending your application on the appropriate form: https://sostieni.fondazioneveronesi.it/pinkambassador/, to start official training in March 2024.
The training groups will only be activated when a minimum number of 20 participants is reached, in the following cities: Milan, Bergamo, Como, Monza Brianza, Varese, Turin, Genoa, Verona, Padua, Trento, Reggio Emilia, Bologna, Florence, Perugia, Rome, Naples, Salerno, Bari, Lecce, Catania, Palermo and Cagliari.
