There was a fire at the Ping Pong Club on the Concordiastraat in Utrecht in the night from Friday to Saturday. According to the entrepreneurs, the damage is so great that the catering business will keep its doors closed for the foreseeable future.
The fire in the former railway shed was reported just before 4 a.m. The flames were under control fairly quickly, Utrecht Security Region reports on Twitter. Nothing is known about the cause of the fire.
The Ping Pong Club writes on Facebook: “We are going to assess the damage and see what is needed for a quick repair. If you have reserved, we have to disappoint you. We find it at least as annoying. Sorry for the inconvenience and hopefully we’ll see meet again soon for a game of table tennis or a nice drink.”
