Pilot makes emergency landing on highway between cars and electricity wires | Abroad

Pilot Vincent Fraser is a veteran of the United States Navy. The man had only just obtained his flying license, but was already faced with an emergency. On July 3, the engine of his single-engine plane sputtered. He was flying near a highway in the US state of North Carolina at the time. The pilot decided to make an emergency landing.

The Swain County Sheriff’s Office shared images of the emergency landing on social media. It shows how Fraser flies his plane above the highway and then lands in the middle of the highway. He can narrowly dodge some cars and power lines. The aircraft eventually comes to a stop on the side of the road.

“What an excellent job,” Sheriff Curtis Cochran said on Facebook. “There were so many things that could have been catastrophic that didn’t happen,” he concludes.
