According to a spokeswoman for the fire service, something went wrong when the glider was pulling up, causing the plane to plunge straight down from a height of 30 meters. Gliders are winched up in order to be lifted into the air at height.
Emergency services were quickly at the glider airfield, but could do nothing for the already deceased pilot. The police are investigating the incident.
