Pihla Penttinen struggled with infertility for a long time

Pihla Penttinen will soon celebrate her firstborn’s first birthday.

Actor Pihla Penttinen has returned to work after maternity leave.

Among others, Penttinen, 43, who is familiar from Putius and the Sunday lunch comedy series, and his actress Santtu Karvonen, 42, had their firstborn children at last year’s Midsummer.

The road to parenting was not easy. The desired child of nine years was eventually obtained through a gift cell. He will soon turn a year.

– It’s been absurd, in every sense of the word. Really expected, lovely and happy. It is incomprehensible how a baby is suddenly a small child who makes contact and fuss about everything, says Penttinen from her first year as a mother.

– Sometimes there has been fatigue and unreasonably heavy. I’ve learned to take time for myself too, but it’s not easy.

According to the moment

Motherhood has taught Pentti to live in the moment and trust her own instincts. There are an endless number of tips and tricks for new parents, but you can’t fully cling to them.

– There are huge instructions on how to make a child eat, sleep and otherwise function perfectly. I have found that it is more important to just be for your child and act for a moment.

Penttinen has also shared his thoughts on infertility on his Instagram account. Both my own close circle and Some have become a lot of support for this painful topic.

– Our close circle has always supported us and been really encouraging. In Some, I have received peer support from people who have contacted me. It’s been really important, he says.

When Penttis is asked what he would like to say to others who have had infertility, he ponders for a moment.

– It’s such a big deal that it can’t be summed up in one sentence. But there are a lot of us here and hopefully we can act as a light for each other, he notes.

Return to work

Penttinen started his acting career as a child. The daughter of actress Pertti Sveholm played her first role in the film when she was 6 years old Niskavuori.

Penttinen rose to the attention of the general public about the Falls in 2018. His sketch character was a barbecue worker and “Customer Service of the Year” Mallu-Jasmina. In Core’s comedy series Sunday Lunch, he has starred in Kuusumu Mietti. In addition to films and TV series, Penttinen has performed extensively in the theater.

Penttinen returned from work on maternity leave in the spring, when she shot two films. In the summer, he will perform in his revue under Fölin in Ruissalo, Turku.

Another of the films shot in the spring is a drama comedy Wedding before the funeralstarring Iina Kuustonen and Antti Luusuaniemi. In addition to Penttinen, the supporting roles include Jukka Puotila.

The film, which arrives in theaters in the fall, is an actor Kari Ketosen first control. Penttinen praises working with Ketonen.

– We had a really nice time. Kari is accurate and as an actor he of course has the ability to help Actors act in front of the camera. We shot the film in a really short time, but Kari stayed on board and made quick decisions, she says.
