Germany’s darts ace Ricardo Pietreczko said goodbye to the Grand Slam in Wolverhampton with a victory. The 29-year-old from Nuremberg won his last group game against Englishman Nathan Aspinall 5:4 and thus achieved a conciliatory end to his Grand Slam debut.
With two defeats at the start of the tournament, Pietreczko had already lost his chances of reaching the round of 16.
The newcomer triumphed almost a month ago at the European Tour event in Hildesheim and became the second German after Max Hopp in 2018 to win a Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournament. This also ensured his participation in the Grand Slam.
