Pieter van Vollenhoven enjoys watching the Olympic Games
Despite the bad weather, Mr. Pieter van Vollenhoven did enjoy Sunday. Princess Margriet’s husband really enjoyed watching the Olympics, which he says is a joy to watch.
“What a joy it is to be able to watch the Winter Olympics in this crappy weather,” Van Vollenhoven tweeted enthusiastically on Sunday evening. Fortunately, there was also something to cheer about for him, because skater Patrick Roest took silver in the 5000 meters on Sunday. On Saturday, skater Irene Schouten already won gold in the 3000 meters.
According to Van Vollenhoven, however, it remains a matter of looking at sports. That would not be for him, the 82-year-old confesses with a joke. “One secret I will reveal….I would never have been selected for that! Yes….you wouldn’t have thought that!!”
