‘Pieter Omtzigt really never wants to join Khalid & Sophie again’

There are varying opinions about Pieter Omtzigt’s backstage behavior at the talk show Khalid & Sophie, but according to Merel Ek one thing is certain: “He never wants to join us again.”

Pieter Omtzigt went completely out of his way last year behind the scenes at the former talk show HLF8 and that continues to haunt him for a long time. Now that, according to viewers, he was treated in a ‘rude’ way by Khalid Kasem in the talk show Khalid & Sophie, many people are wondering what happened backstage.

‘It wasn’t too bad’

According to Hart van Nederland reporter Sam Hagens, the politician did not become angry, but according to NRC he did have a tantrum. How exactly does this work?

It wasn’t too bad, says political reporter Merel Ek, Sam’s colleague. “Well, it wasn’t too bad, we heard,” she says in the Today Inside from last night.

“I’m not coming here anymore!”

Where does that NRC story come from? Merel: “They said that he was not happy with the broadcast and that he had become angry. He seems to have… Well, not even shouted, but he did say: ‘I’m not coming here anymore.’”

Professor Stine Jensen, who was a guest in the same Khalid & Sophie as Omtzigt, states that the NRC story is incorrect. She writes down X: “It is a rumor that he walked away angry. Afterwards he took the time to talk to everyone, including me. Roberto Lobosco can confirm this.”

Shout

Of course, something could have happened outside Stine’s view, according to Merel. “Now you have to say that the guests at De Wereld Draait Door always… You don’t know what happens afterwards in the editorial office. Of course you don’t know that, but it seems to have turned out not too bad.”

She continues: “At HLF8 it was really intense: screaming, crying, whatever. And this seems to have turned out not too bad, so yes…”

‘You’re allowed to be angry’

Job Knoester does not understand the hyperfocus on Omtzigt’s state of mind. “But then again: you’re allowed to be angry.”

VI star Johan Derksen: “I think so too. Shouldn’t that man be angry? If you saw how he was interrogated, I would be pissed too.”

According to media expert Victor Vlam, host Khalid Kasem has gone so hard at Omtzigt because he wants to profile himself as a left-progressive figurehead of BNNVARA.
