Pieter Coussaert (101) deceased: oldest Belgian survivor of Normandy landings
Coussaert turned 101 and received a military tribute on his 100th birthday last year.
During the Second World War, Pieter Coussaert was a sailor with his fishing vessel in Great Britain. The ship was incorporated by the British Navy as a patrol vessel. On June 6, he remained at sea with his ship to intercept German submarines.
