Pierce Brosnan faces trial over Yellowstone National Park incident

The actor was reported for allegedly entering protected thermal areas.

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan has been charged with trespassing on protected thermal areas in Yellowstone National Park. Leaving the paths in the park can be dangerous. People magazine writes that court documents show the 70-year-old received two subpoenas. On November 1st, he “violated closures and usage restrictions” while walking and off the trails. Brosnan now has to appear in court on January 23rd.

The area has thermal phenomena such as hot springs and geysers. Visitors are repeatedly warned by signs and on the park’s website not to stay in the area after dark, swim in the water or go outside the designated hiking trails. The dangerous thing: the pools are acidic enough “to burn through boots” and the bottom is “just a thin crust over boiling hot springs.” Anyone who gets caught can expect severe penalties.

New western strip in the national park

The reason for his visit to Yellowstone National Park was the western film “Unholy Trinity”. The film was shot primarily at the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Paradise Valley. The film is about a son in the 1870s who is supposed to avenge his father. Part of the cast includes German actress Veronica Ferres.
