A 25-year-old press photographer from Berkel en Rodenrijs was arrested in Biddinghuizen early in the afternoon on Friday. The man was present at Aqua Centrum Bremerbergse Hoek to take pictures around the canoe drama with a German family. He refused to follow the directions of officers on the spot, according to police.
When it became clear that the body of the fourth and last member of the German family, the 5-year-old girl, was was found, many photographers and journalists gathered in Biddinghuizen on the Veluwemeer. The police would answer questions and share the information known at that time.

,,We had set up a press section for this, and it all went smoothly”, said police spokesman Wim Hoonhout. ,,But this man did not wish to conform to the instructions of the officers. He wanted to climb the scaffolding towards the salvage of the body.”
When the man was asked to show his ID, which he refused, he was arrested. He was fined at the station for not revealing his identity. After that, the man from Berkel en Rodenrijs was released again.
