Pharrell and Colette Founder Sarah Andelman Are “Just Phriends”

Pharrell Williams’ debut show for Louis Vuitton isn’t his only star-studded performance during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.

Joopiter, the singing designer’s digitally-focused auction house, is auctioning off a top-class collection of contemporary fashion, art and design elements from June 19th to 27th. The “Just Phriends” auction was curated by former Colette founder Sarah Andelman, who has worked several times with Williams’ brand Billionaire Boys Club.

“I am honored by Pharrell’s invitation to write a new chapter on Joopiter’s platform,” said Adelman. “We’ve known each other for so long now, we have so many great souvenirs from working together at Colette. For this unique auction, I immediately thought of bringing together the artists and designers who have been collaborating with Pharrell for a long time, but also a new generation of talent that I love and think is relevant in today’s culture – that’s why it’s called they just phriends.”

The auction items are a mix of rare and custom-made artworks, objects and exclusive collaborations drawn from the Joopiter founder’s circle of friends, according to the auction house in a post on Instagram.

William’s influence on the fashion and art scene is particularly evident when looking at the digital auction catalogue. The “circle of friends” that gather here consists of renowned artists such as Kwas, whose MTV Moonman trophy is up for auction, or Takashi Murakami, whose helmet designed for F1 driver Lewis Hamilton is also up for sale. There is also a Pharrell portrait by Georg Hildebrandt, a Louis Vuitton x Virgil Abloh Dream House statue and a collaboration by Williams with Tiffany & Co.

In addition to the auction items, there is also much cheaper merchandise, such as T-shirts and teddy bears, which can be bought directly in the site’s gift shop.
