Petrus M. used his mentally handicapped sister as a ‘lure’ for sex with men

Four older men between the ages of 57 and 81 stood trial in the court in Den Bosch on Wednesday for abusing an older, mentally handicapped woman. She is the older sister of main suspect Petrus M. (62) from Oss. He used her as a ‘lure’ for other men and then had sex with them himself, as it turned out on the first day of the trial.

It was especially a long day in court, this Wednesday. And there will be another day, because the punishment demands against the four men will not come until Thursday. Petrus M. sat before the judges, together with three of his chat friends, whom he met on the site chatmetvreemden.nl.

Petrus M. had countless conversations on that site. The Ministry of Justice measured this for six months and counted 1,233 conversations in that period alone. And most of those conversations were about sex.

Main suspect M. did not seem too smart with his answers, when he once again dodged a question from one of the judges. They wanted to know whether there had only been talk about a date or whether it had actually happened. But M. always did not give a clear answer or did not remember. Especially if the questions were very specifically about dating or sex. Nothing had happened to his sister, he stated.

Sex with mentally challenged sister
But the other suspects (56 to 81 years old) were there for a reason. There was indeed sex with Peter’s mentally challenged sister, of whom Peter had been the legal representative since their parents died. Peter regularly took her out of the institution and then, on his initiative, she was abused by other men, according to justice. Petrus M. then had sex with them again.

The case came to light at the end of July last year when Petrus brought his sister back to the institution in Uden where she lives. Supervisors noticed that the woman had wounds in her pubic area and was bleeding. The police were alerted and Petrus M. was arrested.

His entire life was examined and a rather unsatisfactory picture emerged. Peter, who lived with his wife, was looking for sex with men every day or at least found it exciting to talk about it. During the hearing, many names of chat friends were mentioned.

Sex with 81-year-old co-suspect
Petrus pretended to be a couple on the chat. He tried to make sex appointments under pseudonyms such as ‘cousin’ or ‘Hermien and Pieter’. This worked a few times with the 81-year-old co-suspect. But when he came by, the excuse was that ‘Hermien’ couldn’t be there so they should have sex together.

Later, ‘Hermien’ or the sister was there, but then the man was shocked by the woman’s disability, he explained. He wanted to get away quickly, but he did have sex with Petrus M.

During the day the picture became clear that Peter was actually using his sister as a lure. In no fewer than 531 conversations he spoke about his ‘niece’, who was mentally challenged. And many men turned out to be interested, even though it was said that she could not talk, had the level of a 1-year-old and was wearing a diaper.

In some cases an agreement was actually reached with the co-suspects from Tilburg, Veghel and Drempt in Gelderland. But all three stated that they had not had sex with her.

‘Tough man talk’
But on the chat the plans were still big. “Tough man talk,” the suspects stated. All sex options were discussed and Petrus explained again and again what his sister could and could not do in the field of sex and what she had learned in the meantime.

It seemed like the most normal thing in the world to discuss such things on an anonymous chat site. Child pornography has also been found on several men. And all of this together is something the judiciary takes seriously.

The case will continue on Thursday
On Thursday the public prosecutor will undoubtedly make a strong demand. The lawyers of the four suspects can then explain their views on the case.

The verdict in this case is on January 18.
