Welfare entrepreneur and 1997 Miss Finland Karita Tykkä and her husband Petri Tykkä have been in the headlines in recent days due to divorce rumors.
On Thursday, Petri Tykkä published a fiery article on his Facebook wall, in which he threatened to file for divorce. On Saturday evening, the man published a more conciliatory text. He has titled his Facebook post with the words “Public request”.
– Yesterday, I deleted the story I posted on FB here on Thursday, because the opening I originally intended for a small group spread like wildfire both on online forums and on the pages of tabloid newspapers. I’m really new to Facebook and other social media, and I didn’t realize that my post was public to everyone. It was supposed to be visible only to my FB friendsLikes to prime.
He says that seven years had passed since his last update, “and he didn’t realize the visibility his publication had until the messages started to rain down on him”.
– Messages came from familiar and unknown people, and a large part of them were positive and encouraging. However, at the same time, I was the target of a pretty good goal by Karita’s followers. In their opinion, such messages should have been dealt with between the two of us, and now in retrospect, I agree to some degree that I could have omitted that post or at least made it a little neater, because my intention was not to cause Karita the hurt that has now developedI like to write.
– So the post I made on Thursday was really direct, tough and it came straight from my heart, because I was really distracted on Thursday. Yesterday I was able to pull myself together a bit and came to the conclusion that I will hide the original message here on FB, because my post started to cause unpleasant things for various parties and the whole thing swelled to far too large a scale.
– Karita and I still have quite a difference of opinion on several different issues, especially regarding that cheating. Everyone sees cheating a little differently, but for me cheating is either a declaration of love or, for example, intimate intercourse with a third party. I don’t want to bring up Karita’s point of view here, and I already brought up my own point of view on Thursday, so that’s about it.
Tykkä says that he has been in contact with his wife and knows that because of that, she received “really nasty messages”.
– Despite all the suffering and injustice Karita has caused me, I do not wish her harm, so I would hope that no negative messages would be sent to her.
The like says that they will deal with things outside of social media in the future. He says that his primary purpose was to vent his heartache with his post on Thursday.
Karita and Petri Tykkä were married on August 9, 2008 in the German Church in Helsinki. They have one child together.
