Ilves star striker Petri Kontiola38, has been in great shape again this season in the hockey SM league, but despite his top condition, he is about to end his career.
Kontiola already announced in August to Aamulehti that he would end his career after this season.
Kontiola is about to finish at the top of Finland, because so far he has played 32 matches at a point-per-game rate. On Monday, Kontiola was chosen as the League’s player of the month for December.
Kontiola returned from the KHL to the SM League for the 2020–21 season. At that time, he played for HPK and immediately won the entire series points exchange.
The top of the spot exchange is not far away either. of JYP Jerry Turkulainen is number one with 35 power points.

Millions
A long career abroad has secured Kontiola’s future in the financial sense.
At the end of 2021, Kontiola’s holding company’s balance sheet had investments of EUR 2.27 million. The corresponding number a year earlier was 1.94 million.
In 2020, Kontiola earned about 100,000 euros in earned income. With investment assets of more than two million euros, you can easily accumulate 100,000 euros just by the increase in value, if the millions have been invested well and you get, for example, the same return as from stocks on average.
At the end of 2021, Kontiola’s holding company had a good 30,000 euros in dry cash. A year earlier, cash was 154,000 euros.
Just over a year ago, the company’s debt capital was just over 300,000.
Kontiola’s company is managed by a company called Obsido, which handles the financial affairs of several other wealthy ice hockey players and whose employees are also ex-ice hockey players.

Kontiola was an effective scorer in his first years in the league and left for the NHL in 2007. However, the place in the taala league was not established.
