The most interesting game of the day
Today, Ilves has the opportunity to secure his place in the League semi-finals as the second team to accompany Tappara.
The Ilves – Kärpät series has been marked by uniformity since the beginning of Ilves’ dominance; the previous four matches have ended in a goal difference with either victory. In addition, three out of four have ended up in the sequels.
Also teams of goalkeepers Joel Blomqvistin and Marek Langhamerin great extracts have given the series its own flavor. Langhamer in particular has robbed Kärpi of a calculated number of goals, as in five matches Kärpät has scored only five hits in the actual playing times, although it has been able to create the expected goal of eleven goals.
Ilves’ two key players have also made an impact on the dynamics of the series Petri Kontiolan and Henrik Haapalan injuries. Kontiola took a hit in the triple play David Sklenickan from the power of the tackle, and Haapala, on the other hand, twisted his knee in a quadruple-like game. Kontiola missed a four-game game. However, both players returned to the pitch in the last match in Tampere’s head.
However, Haapala and Kontiola were not able to take part in the fifth game on all cylinders, as their playing time was shorter than normal, even though the players in the nominal first field Joona Ikosen played with.
Haapala clocked 13.35 in playing time, which was only 14th place in Ilves ‘internal playing time comparison. Kontiola got playing time at 16.39, being Ilves’ eighth most player. Visually, both may have played a little more cautiously than normal.
The importance of Kontiola and Haapala to Ilves is emphasized, both of which are important drivers of their team’s game of superiority. In addition, Kontiola is Ilves’ “secret” weapon when it is healthy.
An exciting observation about Kontiola’s starting winning stakes in this spring’s playoffs is that before the third game, the starting winning percentages per match were 60.0%, 61.1% and 57.1%. In its return match (Saturday’s Fifth Encounter), Kontiola won only 43.5% of its starts.
Coincidentally, coincidence may play a decisive role in these individual cases, but it is also possible that the air flight caused by the Sklenicka rigging and the falling ice caused the lung, which is precisely what hinders start-ups, for example. Kontiola’s start-ups are worth a little observation today.
Personally, I even see Haapala and Kontiola playing a decisive role in Ilves’ chances of success. Today, an important duo is in Ilves’ playing line-up. Anyway, the teams have no surprises or crucial flaws in their lineups.
As usual, the teams have been honed into an extremely even pair during the first five matches, and their opponents’ strengths are already well played out. This automatically makes matches trivial – without any special events.
When assessing the power relations of the weaving game, I myself give a little more weight to the home advantage than Veikkaus.
Flies are basically a more palatable choice for the winner, but until the games, the odds aren’t enough.
In its goals for the number of goals, Veikkaus has rightly emphasized the lack of goals. Still, as the best game choice for the match, I raise the 1.60 odds offered for less than 4.5 points in the actual playing time.
Kärpät – Ilves starts at 6.30 pm.
The best bet of the day
In terms of betting, Monday’s biggest expectations were for Mestis’ RoKi-JoKP match before the odds were announced.
It was hoped that Veikkaus would have overreacted to the result of the opening game of the teams’ semifinals (RoKi won 5–2 away). However, the hopes were only dreams, as Veikkaus did not fall into the trap, but has rightly managed to set the people of Joensuu as clear favorites for the second match.
None of the giant bids for Monday’s matches are available anyway.
As the best goal of the game, I raise KeuPa from the HT – FPS match to the final win of the home team with a odds of 1.71. This may show a little too much of KeuPa HT’s five-match losing streak. The team ended the regular season by playing poorly and losing their last four matches.
Now, however, the playoffs are their own world. In the opening match of the semi-finals in Forssa, the team was not the underdog in terms of numbers (5–2) in the field game (3.5–2.5 goals expected for the match).
Now with a home advantage, I get a probability of a final win for KeuPa HT of 57 percent.
KeuPa HT-FPS starts at 6.30 pm.
