Väänänen impressed the judges of MasterChef Finland week after week with his solid skills and ability to withstand pressure. Väänänen remembers the experience fondly.

– Of course, the pressure was exactly what it looks like. There is not much time to think about what to cook. The program was one of the best experiences in my life and I made good friends there.

He would also be interested in making television in the future.

– I do dream of my own cookbook and television show.

Included in the cloud restaurant

Recently, Väänänen has been keeping busy in addition to his studies with the cloud restaurant Onne, the idea of which is to offer influencers in the food industry a platform to sell their own dishes without the risks and responsibilities associated with setting up a restaurant. At the same time, Onne’s goal is to diversify the selection of food that can be ordered at home.

– I believe that this is the future of the food industry, and that’s why I joined, Väänänen says.

Väänänen’s role at Onne is to help optimize the recipes offered by the restaurant in such a way that it is easy and efficient to prepare for a large customer base, and that the portions can withstand home delivery well.

Happy founder and owner by Kasimir Hellman The operation of the cloud restaurant opened at the end of the year has started well.

– Every portion that can be found on the lists has been sold. Finnish rainbow trout, bowls and mushroom shawarma have become the most popular.

Dishes can be ordered in Helsinki through Wolt and Foodora, and the restaurant’s kitchen is located in Jätkäsaari in Huuva’s premises. In the future, the intention is to find Onne’s own premises.
