celebritiesThe lawsuit that Johnny Depp (58) filed against his ex-wife Amber Heard (36) is only halfway through, but is already making a lot of sense to the public. For example, more than 3 million people want the actress removed from the new movie ‘Aquaman 2’.
The petition was launched as early as 2020, when Depp was in court with ‘The Sun’, because that newspaper had called him a ‘woman swatter’. But now that the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor has filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard for libel, the petition is again in the spotlight. More than three million people have already signed the petition. They all want Heard to be cut from the second ‘Aquaman’ film, which should hit theaters in 2023.
“Heard has been exposed as a perpetrator of domestic violence,” the petition’s creator said. “She has systematically crusaded to ruin Depp’s Hollywood career and has told several times about fake incidents where she attacked Johnny Depp but lied and portrayed him as the abuser.”
Last year, Peter Safran, one of the producers of ‘Aquaman’, already announced that the team had no intention of replacing Amber Heard. “I don’t think we would ever respond to pressure from the fans. In the end, you just have to do what’s best for the film.” With Johnny Depp the cards were different. The actor was not only fired as Captain Jack Sparrow in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film series, but was also replaced by Mads Mikkelsen in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise.
