Simon Bekaert, resident of Europe district & councilor Vooruit Tielt: “Some people say that they used to get to the station in two minutes and now it takes ten minutes. But is that such a big problem, I wonder? Because you will get there too, and it will take a little longer. But it is safer, there is less traffic and it is more pleasant to live there. So why not give it a chance?”
The Mobility Alderman informs us that this is a test phase and that the change needs time to get used to. They will then evaluate in six months. Tomorrow ‘the cut’ will come before the city council.
