National hockey player JJ Peterka has made the jump to the roster for the NHL season with the Buffalo Sabers.
“I was very happy, I worked for that all summer. To have made it into the team is an incredible feeling for me,” said Peterka in a video interview published by the Sabers.
The 20-year-old signed with the Sabers in 2020 and made two appearances in the National Hockey League last season. But most of the time he was active in the second-rate AHL. “I’ve noticed how my game has steadily improved over the past year and I’m confident that I can do the same here,” said Peterka.
The Sabers will play the first game of the season on Thursday evening (local time) against Tim Stützle’s Ottawa Senators.
