Peter van der Vorst probably has no idea what he is doing at his RTL office. Because of his actions, Angela de Jong is in a kind of half TV depression.
According to critics, the RTL 4 viewer threatens to completely fall asleep under the leadership of television boss Peter van der Vorst. For example, format creator Kirsten-Jan van Nieuwenhuijzen thinks that surprise has slipped out of the programming a bit. “It’s not like saying, ‘Gosh, spectacular!’ That’s not the case with RTL, is it?”, he judges.
Sad Angela
AD diva Angela de Jong thinks the same about this. she’s late today in her column know that she really no longer feels comfortable with the current offer of RTL 4. According to her, it is too much of the same. “Shabby? You say it. As a TV enthusiast, including commercial TV, it regularly makes me a little sad.”
It is the last straw for her that there are now similar home shows on the menu on two evenings in a row, Monday and Tuesday: Buy Without Watching and For the Same Money. “You can say a lot about RTL 4 boss Peter van der Vorst, but not that he is extremely creative and shows a lot of courage in the programming of his channel.”
Rotterdam Project
According to Angela, the time when RTL 4 excelled is already a few years behind us. “It feels like centuries ago that RTL positively distinguished itself with truly social programs such as Five Days Inside and The Rotterdam Project.”
Now RTL only sticks its neck out with the drag show Make Up Your Mind, says Angela. She has no interest in two residential programs of the same type in succession. “And I already saw the calls for a third similar program, with the inevitable Tijl Beckand.”
