Peter Van de Veire said during ‘Zomerhit’ on Eén: “The VRT has the fantastic task of sending someone or ‘someones’ to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023. I like the Eurovision Song Contest, but critics say it is ‘old box’. But that’s for the youth, for the future. That is why we have decided to do a little more with it this year than usual.” So VRT is looking for the new candidate by means of a competition, it sounds. Everyone can register for that.
It remains to be seen exactly how the competition will work.
Last year RTBF sent Jérémie Makiese to the Eurovision Song Contest. With his ‘Miss You’ he achieved 19th place.
