Peter R. de Vries’ real great love thwarts Tahmina Akefi

Tahmina Akefi likes to present herself as the true love of Peter R. de Vries, but is now thwarted by his real great love: his ex-wife Jacqueline. And she will be very upset about that.

It is quite embarrassing how Tahmina Akefi puts herself forward as the ex-lover of Peter R. de Vries. After her documentary, there will also be a book about their love life. She is therefore already called the new Rachel Hazes by critics. Rachel has become very rich by cleverly exploiting her widowhood.

bad blood

Tahmina is not exactly loved by Peter’s next of kin. She was especially angry with her speech at the memorial service of Peter, shortly after his death. “Unhampered by the presence of Peter’s ex-wife Jacqueline and his children Royce and Kelly, she told her story,” crime reporter Henk Strootman said recently.

During that ceremony, Tahmina shouted that it was not Jacqueline, with whom Peter had been together for decades, but she was the love of his life. “I felt vicarious shame. And not just me, that’s what I heard after the service,” said Henk.

Jacqueline shows up

Jacqueline de Vries is averse to media attention, but yesterday she appeared in an extensive item of RTL Boulevard in which her painting of Peter was revealed. It’s a worthy tribute to the murdered journalist, whose impressive legacy has long been overshadowed by his attention-hungry fling Tahmina.

Jacqueline has incorporated Peter’s life’s work into the painting. “I think I have brought a lot into what he has done and what he stood for, for example his sense of justice. I have incorporated the penal code into it, all kinds of slogans and slogans. But also what the Netherlands gave back when it happened.”

Sneer at Tahmina

Royce de Vries, the son of Peter and Jacqueline, seems to give Tahmina a strong sneer in a statement. “Today my mother unveiled this special painting of my father. My parents have been married for over 35 years and have remained each other’s support until the last moment,” he says.

It seems that Royce wants to make it clear that not Tahmina, but Jacqueline was the great love of Peter’s life. “That is why she not only made the painting with heart and soul, but also portrayed my father in a beautiful way, as we know him as family.”

Proud of Jacqueline

Family friend Kees van der Spek goes a step further. He says at the desk of Boulevard: “Peter was always very proud of Jacqueline, of his wife. He also always showed on his phone what she had made this time. Then I had to look, because Jacqueline makes huge paintings and fantastically beautiful. It also hung in his office.”

Kees also seems to be lashing out at Tahmina with this. He recently indicated that Peter really never talked about Tahmina. “I’ve hardly heard of Peter about her to be honest.”

The painting by Jacqueline will be given a place in the Image & Sound museum.
