‘Peter had a good feeling about contract Eva Jinek’

Humberto Tan states that Peter van der Vorst had a good feeling about the contract negotiations with Eva Jinek. He didn’t see her departure coming at all. “It didn’t look like it.”

Eva Jinek surprised friend and foe this summer by announcing her return to public broadcasting. It is painful that after four years at RTL 4 she had apparently not yet built up a good relationship with channel boss Peter van der Vorst, who lives just a stone’s throw away from her in the Dutch celebrity village of Abcoude.

Peter didn’t know

That lefty Eva just gave Peter the feeling that they would just come out together. “I have regular contact with RTL director Peter van der Vorst and he said that they were still talking. He had a good feeling about those conversations and it didn’t look like she was going to leave,” Humberto Tan said The Telegraph.

Although he is her direct colleague, Eva has not even told Humberto. So everyone on the late evening of RTL 4 is sitting comfortably on their own island. “No, I haven’t spoken to her at all. She is pregnant and will soon give birth. But it is a new adventure for her so I can only applaud that choice.”

Replace Eva?

After the weekend, Humberto returns to the screen for ten weeks, after which Beau van Erven Dorens takes over and then Renze Klamer. It is not yet clear what will happen after that, according to Humberto.

If a fourth talk show host is added, then it is better if it is a woman, says Humberto. “What do you want with a fourth man? A woman with it is healthier. I do have one or two names that could do this. But I’m not going to tell you, that’s what Peter is for.”

Helen maybe?

Helene Hendriks maybe? The new viewing figure queen of SBS 6? “She certainly did well, the ratings were good. But I think she makes a completely different program than Eva. The two cannot be compared.”

It is now ten years ago that RTL Late Night started and then was on the tube for five years. “We are now five years later and I am starting again! I find that special.”
