60-year-old Peter Gillis is suspected of assaulting his girlfriend Nicol, including by biting her on her back and nose. Still, Talpa does not seem to have doubted for a moment to remove the new season of Familie Gillis: Massa is Kassa from the schedules, to the bewilderment of critics. Angela de Jong calls Talpa ‘morally bankrupt’.

Conversation with Gillis

SBS 6 channel boss Marco Louwerens now informs Shownieuws that the new season of Family Gillis: Massa is Kassa will start on, as planned, Tuesday 6 September. “I spoke to Peter Gillis and Nicol quite extensively a few days ago and I only asked one simple question.”

What question then? “I said: ‘I want to know exactly from your mouth the truth of what exactly happened.’ Well, they told me that story, quite extensively. I can’t say anything about that because it’s confidential and she has yet to talk to the police and tell her story.”

‘No need for TV exit’

Yet Marco is so convinced of the story of Peter and Nicol that he does not consider a TV exit necessary. “We also have a responsibility, but we have to rely on facts as far as we can ascertain them. Then you go to the source, I did that.”

And what if Peter is convicted after all? “For example, if a judge ever sees a different outcome in this matter for whatever reason, we will see again, but this is what we are dealing with now.”

reputation manager

In the meantime, Peter has taken on a reputation manager: Martin van Putten, who last year fulfilled a role within the CDA and there an anonymous anti-Rutte campaign launched. “I was called in by Peter after the incident with Nicol,” he says in the Story. “I advised Peter to have a media stop.”

Martin is not worried about Peter’s TV career. “The series just continues. This is a private matter. Talpa is waiting for Nicol to make her statement to the examining magistrate.”

Then glossing over: “I sometimes argue with my wife too.”
