Peter Bosz speaks of a ‘dream start’ but remains critical of his team

PSV was very happy on the field after qualifying for the group stage of the Champions League. Coach Peter Bosz was also very satisfied with the performance of his team in his own way. The team from Eindhoven did not lose the first month under the leadership of the head coach.

And so even Peter Bosz can only be satisfied, right? “I actually thought we were better last week”, the trainer never had to place a small criticism. But after a 5-1 win over Rangers and qualification for the group stage of the Champions League, words of praise soon followed.

“This is a dream start,” Bosz acknowledged. “I was told by everyone at the beginning that the month of August was the most important. I think we got through it fine. We win the super cup, win both league games and qualify for the Champions League.”

“This is more of a prize than the super cup”

A justified summary of the trainer who especially noticed that the last performance is just a little more loose in Eindhoven. “This is more of a prize than the super cup. This is more important for the club and for player development.”

Because after some words of praise, there are always critical words just around the corner at Bosz. “Today I also see my team making mistakes that will be punished in the Champions League. Those guys will start to feel that, but you also learn from that. There are still plenty of things to worry about.”

“We want to add another central defender to the selection”

With the achievement of the Champions League, millions also pour in. With the transfer window still open for two days, fireworks can still be expected. What is still happening in Eindhoven? “I honestly have no idea,” Bosz said afterwards. “But of course we want to add another central defender to the selection.” But the trainer didn’t let go anymore.
