PSV had nothing to say about their return to the Champions League on Wednesday evening. Afterwards, Peter Bosz was realistic and admitted that Arsenal were simply the better team. He put his finger on the sore spot and was already looking ahead to the match against the English in December.
Peter Bosz did not want to call it playing upside down, but the coach naturally had to admit that Arsenal were much better after the 4-0 defeat. “You have to be honest when an opponent is the better team. It simply went too fast for us. Luckily I wasn’t in the field because that must have felt bad.”
“If you hang in your own box against this team, you will also lose”
The coach tried to put his finger on the sore spot. “We weren’t close enough defensively. They did that excellently. That was the biggest difference. The spaces we gave away were too big.”
Bosz did not regret his tactics. The trainer opted for his usual attacking playing style with slightly different details. “Even with today’s science, I wouldn’t have done it differently. If you hang in your own box against this team, you will also lose. Maybe we would have conceded more goals. We are not good enough yet.”
“I also enjoy Arsenal”
Despite the heavy defeat, Bosz could live with it because an opponent can simply be better. “That was also a new experience for us because we had not experienced that before this season. We must learn from this. We will play against this team again in December, then we will see what we have learned from this evening.”
No reason for panic at PSV, in fact Peter Bosz could also enjoy it a bit. “That sounds crazy, right? But I also enjoy Arsenal. I particularly enjoyed Odegaard. That’s a great football player.”
