PSV won 3-1 against Fortuna Sittard on Saturday evening. But afterwards there was not only good news. Peter Bosz reported that Armel Bella-Kotchap is injured and has to miss the cracker against RC Lens.
Bella Kotchap was not in the PSV selection on Saturday evening. The central defender was injured in the run-up to the match against Fortuna Sittard. Peter Bosz provided a less than hopeful update afterwards.
“Bella-Kotchap will not be there on Tuesday either. Some further investigations will need to be carried out to assess the severity of the injury. There will be more clarity about this next week.”
The loss of the defender is a new loss for PSV, which previously also saw Noa Lang drop out. A result must be achieved in the coming week on a visit to the French RC Lens. Then the match of the year against Ajax awaits on Sunday.
“You need moments like this to become a better player”
Andre Ramalho and Olivier Boscagli will be at the back again on Tuesday. Ramalho in particular looks uncertain at the highest level. But he mainly receives compliments from his trainer. “I’ve said it before, Andre is always there when needed.”
The coach was satisfied with the match against Fortuna Sittard, although he was ‘sick to death’ of the goal conceded in the last minute. “I think it’s terrible that Malik Tillmann caused a penalty there. We really want to keep a zero. But on the other hand, he also learns from this. You need moments like this to become a better player.”
