Peter Bol’s doping collar was overturned

Peter Bol is free to race.

Peter Bol received a reassuring message. PDO

Australian runner Peter Bol tells on Twitter that the B sample of his doping test was clean.

Bol, 28, was placed on a temporary training and competition ban in January when epo hormone was found in the man’s A sample. Bol, who finished fourth in the 800 meters at the Tokyo Olympics, is now free to return to the competition fields after the analysis of the second sample.

– The feeling of relief is hard to describe, he writes in his message.

However, the case is not necessarily over for good, as Sport Integrity Australia, which is responsible for Australia’s anti-doping work, announced that it will continue to investigate the matter. It describes the result of the B sample as an atypical finding that cannot yet be declared negative.

Next, an opinion on Bol’s sample will be sought from the World Anti-Doping Federation’s WADA experts.

The record of a runner with a Sudanese background is 1:44.00 last year in the Paris competition of the Diamond League. At the World Championships in Eugene, Bol finished seventh with a time of 1:45.51.
