Pessenaar Jos Luten ready for special edition of the Nijmegen Four Days Marches: ‘It is very double’

The walking event is not new to Luten. “I have walked the Nijmegen Four Days Marches more often. I was once unable to finish it because of a cremation on Friday. But last year – and also for the corona years – I walked along.”

This year he has made quite a few training kilometers in advance. “Some don’t, they run on character. I did train this year, I notice that it runs more pleasantly,” says Luten, who covers fifty kilometers a day with the group. “We leave every morning at 4 a.m., so that means we’ll be on the bike at 3:15 a.m. That will be another thing, will the entire group of ten men manage to get out of bed at that time.”

But that this edition is special, so soon after the death of his father, is certain. “Last weekend the jewelry was prepared with his ashes incorporated in it. We thought it would be a good time to take him with us for the entire four days and to have it with us in mind.”
