The departure of one star cannot “make the overall weather” in Russia, said presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, RBC correspondent reports.

“Agree that a departed star cannot make the general weather. Russia is rich in talents, rich in stars, and the departure of one or even several stars does not need to be overly dramatized, ”Peskov said in response to a question about how he reacts to information about the departure of stars due to the operation in Ukraine.

“People of art should bring art to people. It seems to me that this is the best way they can act at such a difficult moment in our history,” the presidential representative added.

Earlier, a number of well-known cultural figures announced their departure from Russia due to the situation in Ukraine. In particular, People’s Artist Chulpan Khamatova left for Latvia. Khamatova twice signed letters calling for the operation to be stopped: from cultural figures and from Russian NGOs and charitable foundations (she is the founder of the Podari Zhizn Foundation).
