Peskov called Ukraine a “difficult and hostile” country

Modern Ukraine is a country that is not friendly to either Russia or Belarus. This was announced on the air of the Belarus 1 channel by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

“Ukraine is a very difficult country for us. In its current state, it is a hostile country for us. This is a country that wrote down in the Constitution the intention to join NATO,” said Peskov (quote from BelTa).

According to the press secretary, Ukraine “nurtured those who walk around with a Nazi swastika, march down the street,” and also “made Russian a secondary language.” He also noted the restrictions in force in Ukraine for Russian media.

In addition, Peskov added, Ukraine “took a very difficult position” in relation to the presidential elections in Belarus in August 2020 and the protests that followed them.
