A person fell into the water last night in a wide ditch along the Gorecht-Oost in Hoogezand.
Emergency services were alerted just before 4:30 p.m. The fire brigade arrived at the scene with a diving team.
Bystanders report that the victim was taken out of the water by divers, after which he was resuscitated and was rushed to the UMCG just before four o’clock by ambulance.
