At Jungfernheide station on Max-Dohrn-Strasse, a person was hit by an ICE at around 6:50 p.m. on Friday evening and fatally injured.

A replacement train is to be provided and accommodate around 500 passengers. As of 9 p.m., the railway line is still completely closed, S-Bahn trains run through without stopping. The fire brigade looks after the passengers.

How the tragic incident came about is still unclear, but suicide is also possible. Train traffic on the route should be interrupted until 10 p.m.

reporting of suicide
