The US clothing company Perry Ellis International Inc. is expanding its footwear range. On Thursday, the company announced that it had entered into a licensing partnership with shoe manufacturer ACI International for the Original Penguin brand.
The first footwear collection from Original Penguin is scheduled to come onto the market in the fall 2024 season and will be sold in the USA and Canada through well-known department store chains as well as selected shoe and sporting goods retailers and e-commerce platforms.
With the agreement, both companies are expanding their long-standing collaboration. ACI International has held the shoe license for the Perry Ellis brand for 16 years. For Original Penguin, the now announced partnership with the “leading company in the footwear industry” is an “important step” in the label’s expansion, explained Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO of Perry Ellis International, in a statement.
