A football player Perparim Hetemaj end his career. HJK announced that their midfielder’s professional career will end after HJK’s remaining Conference League matches.

HJK will face Scotland’s Aberdeen on November 30 and Greece’s PAOK on December 14. After that, 36-year-old Hetemaj’s almost 20-year professional career will come to an end.

– Lately, I’ve gotten so little playing time that yes, this was pretty much a one-on-one decision, not that difficult. I like to play futsal and I enjoy it, but I have done this for such a long time, and other things are also interesting, says Hetemaj in the press release published by HJK.

After the opening years of his professional career at HJK, Hetemaj moved abroad in 2006. He is especially remembered for his playing years in Italy. Hetemaj, who gave his all to the game, became a club icon at Chievo, where he played for eight years. In Serie A, the account accumulated 300 matches.

In the Finnish A national team, Hetemaj played 49 matches, in which he scored four goals.

Hetemaj returned to HJK last year. The circle closed, because he played in the Helsinki club from 2004 to 2006. The seasons 2022 and 2023 brought “Perpa” the only championships of his career, when HJK celebrated the Finnish championship both times.

Hetemaj is not resting on its laurels. He will start a new job in Klubi 04’s coaching team right away next year.
