The Council for Permit Disputes has annulled the stricter PFAS discharge standards that the Flemish government had imposed on Indaver’s waste processing plant in the port of Antwerp in mid-2022. The Council announced this on Thursday evening. Flemish Minister of the Environment Zuhal Demir analyzes the ruling, but will “continue to act in the public interest,” she said in a response.
