From RB Leipzig
FC Bayern Munich has officially confirmed the change of RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer, which has been expected for months. The 26-year-old national player from Austria has committed himself to the record champions until 2027 and, with a market value of 28 million euros, is currently one of the most valuable transfers for the coming season.
Laimer is one of the most valuable professionals who were available on a free transfer in the summer – now he is also one of the selection of the players with the highest market value who switched for free. However, he missed the top 20 in this ranking.

The tradition of signing top players on a free transfer continues for Bayern: Robert Lewandowski came from BVB in 2014 with a market value of EUR 50 million, Leon Goretzka with a market value of EUR 40 million from Schalke 04 and Noussair Mazraoui last summer with EUR 20 million. Euro market value of Ajax. Raphaël Guerreiro is also said to be about to move to Munich after his contract with Borussia Dortmund ends. With Niklas Süle, David Alaba or Michael Ballack a little longer behind, top-class players have also let their FCB contracts expire.
For Konrad Laimer, the FC Bayern transfer is “a dream come true”
Laimer said of the transfer that it was “a dream come true” for him: “FC Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I will give everything for the club and the fans. FC Bayern always have the highest goals – just like me: I’m in the right place here. I only exist with 100 percent and I will bring that into every training session from day one. I can barely wait for it.”
Have a say about the Laimer transfer: In the Bayern forum / in the Leipzig forum
Jan-Christian Dreesen, new CEO of FC Bayern and successor to Oliver Kahn, said: “We are delighted to have signed Konrad Laimer. He comes to us as the new, old DFB Cup winner – and together we will hopefully celebrate many more great victories and titles here at FC Bayern.”

FC Bayern’s Laimer just ahead of the top 10 record players in RB Leipzig
Laimer had long emphasized that he was keeping all options open, but also confirmed at the end of November that there were no talks with Leipzig. Sports director Max Eberl, on the other hand, had cautiously prepared the RB fans for the departure of the “eights”, who came from Salzburg in 2017 for 7 million euros. In the past five and a half years, Laimer has played 190 times for the “Red Bulls” (15 goals/19 assists). The transfer was initiated by ex-Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, under whom the professional was on the field 46 times in Leipzig. But successor Thomas Tuchel also spoke out in favor of Laimer as a new signing after his arrival.
