The President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragoneswill sign next Monday the “decree promoting the convening of the consultation” on the candidacy to host in the Pyrenees the 2030 Winter Olympics.
This has been revealed by the Office of the President in a statement, after representatives of the Government, the Generalitat and the Spanish Olympic Committee, meeting in Madrid, have validated this Friday “the proposal presented, debated and agreed by the Technical Commission” on the candidacy for 2030 Winter Olympics“waiting for the government of Aragon to join”, which they have called to “maintain the agreements”.
After Aragonès signs the decree, the Minister of the Presidency, Laura Vilagraand the ‘consellera’ of Foreign Action, Victoria Alsinawill appear at a press conference around 11:00 am at the Palau de la Generalitat to explain the logistics of the consultation on the Olympic bid.

With the signature of Aragonès, the institutional initiative will be approved to convene a non-referred popular consultationa decree in which only the territorial scope of the consultation will be specified, which will include at least the counties of Alt Pirineu and Aran.
Next, Aragonès will have a maximum term of 90 days to sign a second decree, in this case to formally convene the consultation, a decree that must be published between 30 and 60 days before it is held and in which the specific question, the census and the date must also be stated .
