Pepco expands into Bosnia and Herzegovina

Pepco opens its first stores in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Pepco Group NV is bringing its discounter Pepco to Sarajevo, the retail group announced on Monday. The first shop in the region is scheduled to open there on September 12th. More locations are planned later this year in cities like Mostar, Livno, Gradačac, Kakanj, Čitluk and Lukavac.

The parent company, which also owns discounters Poundland and Dealz in addition to Pepco, aims to open at least 550 new stores in fiscal 2023. The focus is on Pepco, but Dealz’s presence in Poland is also to be expanded.

“Opening Pepco’s first store in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a milestone in the Group’s profitable store expansion program – our greatest source of value creation,” said Trevor Masters, CEO of Pepco Group. “Pepco is well positioned for future success, backed by its market-leading customer proposition as we focus on building a bigger, better, cheaper and simpler business.”

Previously, Pepco successfully refinanced its debt with an initial €375 million bond issue in June. This met with great interest from international and Polish investors.
