“People often greet with that phrase”

Marjo Matikainen-Kallström is especially known for her legendary exclamation.

That exclamation will not be forgotten.

Marjo Matikainen (now Matikainen-Kallström) roared in the middle of the World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, a sentence that has remained on the eardrums of Finns forever.

Matikainen-Kallström was skiing a 5-kilometer traditional race in 1987, when she needed help from the Finnish maintenance team.

A skier needed something to clean the soles of his skis.

– Cones, devil!

Marjo Matikainen-Kallström is remembered for one statement in particular. Matti Matikainen

Matikainen-Kallström eventually skied to victory in that race and celebrated the World Championship gold. The exclamation is still heard when people see Matikainen-Kallström.

– They don’t really come to ask, they quite often greet me with that phrase. And then they apologize if it bothers you. I can say that it doesn’t bother me, Matikainen-Kallström said on the Olympic alumni day in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki.

– I don’t really think about it any more. It just happened that the cameras were right there.

The story continues after the picture.

All the exclamation changed the former skier’s life, at least to some extent.

He has founded a company called Havu&Per, through which the Olympic champion conducts management coaching.

The statement still shows that there are different personalities in the world.

– Especially in current tasks, it reminds us that different personality traits come out in different situations.

– That’s good, and sometimes they are needed.
